Axegrinder 3 is a 2022 American slasher horror film in which psycho killer Freddy Palmer has escaped the asylum and is on a one-way, blood-filled rampage through woods, houses and bodies.
The movie is a sequel to Axegrinder (2006) and Axegrinder 2 (2019). And they sure are grinding them out cos there’s Axegrinder 4: Souls of Blood; Axegrinder 5: Blood Vengeance; Axegrinder 666 and Axegrinder 7: New Blood!
Directed by Joe Sherlock and Joseph Voegele.
The Sterling Entertainment production stars Tonjia Atomic (Manos Returns), Melody Berg, John Bowker, Mel Heflin (Camp Blood), Larsa Honeytoast, Jackey Neyman Jones (Manos the Hands of Fate), Roxxy Mountains, Donna Rooney, Kirk Sardonis, Joe Sherlock, Joseph Voegele and Dale Wilson.
Reviews:
“Sherlock brings his usual sense of quirky fun, practical F/X and a terrific sense of humor to the proceedings, while Voegele provides some excellent kill sequences throughout, even making reference to classic slashers like Friday the 13th. Axegrinder 3 was another fun, solid entry in this ongoing slasher marathon…” 7 out of 10, Ian Mair
“Axegrinder 3 is co-directed by Joe Sherlock. If you’ve seen his other films you know he’s more interested in filling the screen with large and in charge females than actual horror. Sure there’s some bloody (but not gory) killings mostly without an axe but the main focus is big girls […] The film is brief at 69 minutes but even that feels a bit long.” 2 out of 10, Milk Hole
“Sure, Axegrinder III is guilty of padding. It opens with flashbacks to the first movie and has long scenes of people watching TV. Since most of the shows they watch feature chicks modeling naked and/or showering, it’s okay by me […] If you’re a fan of BBW’s, you’ll definitely want to add an extra half-star to the rating […] a big improvement over the original.” The Video Vacuum
“Since this is a microbudget film, the effects are daily limited, for most of the kills we just see some blood splashed around with the actual gore kept off-screen, which is par for the course in these films. It does however get points for not using CGI blood splatter […] If you don’t have a problem with tiny budgets or large women, Axegrinder 3 is a cheap and cheerful way to kill some time.” ★★★ Voices from the Balcony
