Ahead of the AFC Championship Game, the consensus among the media and the fans was that the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens would get the best of the visiting Kansas City Chiefs and advance to the Super Bowl.
The Ravens looked like the best team in the league heading into this playoff showdown with the Chiefs, but Baltimore failed to show up when the lights were the brightest, which resulted in Kansas City coming out on top and having the chance to defend their title on February 11 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Even though the Chiefs were expected to put up a fight against Lamar Jackson and company, Kansas City was firing on all cylinders, with Mahomes playing a masterful game while connecting with superstar tight end Travis Kelce all day long.
On Monday, Chris Broussard of FOX Sports, who picked the Ravens to beat the Chiefs to advance to the Super Bowl, dubbed Kansas City an “incredible” football team.
“The Chiefs are incredible. … The Chiefs showed championship mettle and composure, and the Ravens self-imploded. I’m not taking anything from the Chiefs. The Chiefs beat them fair and square. The Ravens self-imploded.”
“I’ve never said this, but @getnickwright was right. 🤣 The Chiefs are incredible. They showed championship mettle & composure. The Ravens self-imploded.”

Broussard is correct because the Chiefs played well on both sides of the football on Sunday on the road, while the Ravens looked lost and went away from what they do best, which is run the ball.
It seemed to come down to the fact that the Chiefs are a battle-tested squad in this playoff situation, while the Ravens are still inexperienced and clearly flawed when they have to lean on Jackson to get the job done.
